WE300B Directly Heated Triode Linestage
The Brama WE300B Directly Heated Triode Linestage
The Brama 300B Directly Heated Triode Linestage (featured in both our Preamplifier and Integrated Amplifier) is a truly distinctive achievement in high-end audio design. This fully dual-mono linestage employs a matched pair of Western Electric WE300B triodes operating in pure Class A to provide voltage gain. Uniquely, the entire linestage is mounted directly to the rear panel, allowing for exceptionally short signal paths (just a few centimeters in length) for maximum signal purity and minimal noise.
Channel balance is handled via dual resistor ladder volume controls, enabling precise matching without introducing additional active circuitry. Both the input and output stages are fully balanced, ensuring superior common-mode noise rejection and uncompromised signal integrity throughout.
Power Amplifier Stage
The Brama Power Amplifier Stage
Employed in both our Integrated Amplifier and Monoblock Power Amplifiers, our amplifier stage takes a radically different approach from conventional designs. Rather than relying on a long chain of lower-cost power transistors, we use only two (Integrated) or three (Monoblocks) computer-matched Lateral MOSFETs per voltage rail. This minimalist, high-purity approach ensures that our MOSFETs “speak with one voice,” preserving a natural, holographic presentation with exceptional fine detail retrieval.
In contrast, many competing designs use 10 to 20 transistors per rail that are spread across 30 to 50+ centimeters of PCB, resulting in longer trace paths and requiring greater feedback to maintain linearity, often at the expense of musicality and added noise.
We also use an innovative two-board stack architecture for our power amplifiers (input and driver stage on the top-level PCB, and current output stage on the bottom PCB) to keeps signal and power trace lengths to an absolute minimum, reducing parasitic effects and enhancing transient speed and coherence.
Power Supply
The Brama Power Supply
Unlike the conventional transformer → rectifier → bulk capacitor topology found in most amplifiers, Brama employs a fully custom-designed, true audio-grade switch-mode power supply featuring active power factor correction (PFC). This ensures unwavering voltage stability across a broad AC mains range (100–264 VAC), delivering consistent performance regardless of incoming power quality.
Our advanced supply architecture pushes noise far outside the audio band and excels in managing musical transients with immediacy and control – free from the lag and sag associated with traditional designs. In the linestage sections of the Brama Preamplifier and Integrated Amplifier, we go further by incorporating patented Belleson linear super-regulators, renowned for their ultra-low noise floor and fast transient response over the entire audio bandwidth.
For the power amplifier stage, each Brama Integrated Amplifier and Monoblock Power Amplifier is equipped with a dedicated 2400W peak output power supply, engineered for speed, low noise, and dynamic headroom. Uniquely, the entire power supply is housed in its own precision CNC-machined compartment within the solid Brama chassis, and isolated from the audio circuitry as effectively as if it were in a separate enclosure, but without the complexity of umbilical cables or additional connectors. Internally, all power wiring is meticulously routed and kept to just a few centimeters in length.
To our knowledge, no other high-end audio company offers this level of innovation, integration, and execution in power supply design.
Chassis
The Brama Chassis
Each Brama chassis begins as a single solid block of Aluminum 6063 and is precision-machined using a 5-axis CNC process. While nearly all other high-end audio manufacturers assemble their enclosures from multiple panels (top, bottom, sides, front, and rear), our monolithic approach offers significant performance advantages.
This seamless construction delivers outstanding resonance control, exceptional EMI shielding, and highly efficient heat dissipation. It also enables a screw-free exterior design that is visually pure, with no distracting fasteners or seams – just clean lines and a minimalist elegance that reflects the same level of sophistication within.
Designed with equal emphasis on form and function, the solid Brama chassis embodies timeless industrial design while providing the robust platform required for ultra-high-end performance. It’s a statement piece that integrates beautifully into any premium audio system.
Remote
The Brama Remote
Thoughtfully designed to match the quality and elegance of the Brama components, the Brama Remote stands apart in a category often overlooked by many other audio companies. Machined from a solid bar of Aluminum 6063, it mirrors the robust build and refined aesthetic of the main Brama components.
Functionally, it’s equally impressive. The intuitive menu system, high-resolution display, and tactile push buttons provide precise, effortless control directly in the hand of the listener. One can adjust volume, gain, balance, and save individual settings for each input. Additional features include gauge backlight adjustment, a home-theater bypass mode, and firmware updates via the USB-C port.
Bluetooth connectivity removes the limitations of line-of-sight operation, and USB-C battery charging ensures long-term reliability and ease of use. The Brama Remote designed not just for convenience, but for pride of ownership, delivering the same meticulous attention to detail that defines the entire Brama Collection.
