The B.amp is a uniquely flexible power amplifier, designed to deliver first-class performance with the added benefit of switchable operation between stereo and bridged mono operation.
Operating in Class AB mode, the B.amp merges jaw-dropping sound with extremely low measured distortion figures. Dynamic and emotional impact to flow freely as the music passes through the amplifier free from any degradation due to its numerous technical benchmarks.
Music’s most demanding high-power passages can stress an amplifier in ways that degrade sonics. B.audio’s approach takes advantage of a dual-mono design with completely separate power supplies for each channel, eliminating the risk of cross-talk during high current peaks. The use of carefully applied local feedback at the most critical stages allows perfectly linear operation under all operating conditions.
Demanding loudspeakers are also not a problem: the B.amp features an abundant current reserve, enabling it to easily drive any type of loudspeaker, even the most inefficient.
The design and operating scheme of the B.amp is the result of numerous computer simulations over a period of 10 years, followed by intensive listening and acoustic testing to verify the test bench results in the sound room. The particularly long research and development period—certainly unusual in the world of audio development—has led to circuit refinements that far exceeded B.audio’s expectations for musical excellence.
